Affectionate Greetings to Friends and Classmates-

Although I return to DC every 2-3 months to visit my mom, I can’t be at the reunion. I’ve enjoyed tremendously reading people’s profiles and am amazed and in awe at how much life we have lived collectively.

I’m mostly retired after 37 years in nurse-midwifery and nursing. It was a rich and gratifying career, especially in retrospect. I took every opportunity to do something different and learn something new. I wanted “to see life”. I worked in home care, epidemiology, corrections; delivered babies in Cook County and Illinois Masonic Hospitals in Chicago, set up a birth control clinic, taught nursing, worked on rehab and medical units and in the last 8 years of employment was a long-term care case manager for Developmentally Disabled Adults and Hmong Elderly. I continue to volunteer at the free clinic in La Crosse. It keeps me in touch with the community.

Except for 2 Peace Corps years in Colombia, S.A., I’ve lived in Chicago and Wisconsin. I am fortunate to have two dear sons and a beloved partner, Joe Morse, who lives across the River in Minnesota.

Very best wishes to all—
Linda Weber Van Art
