Larry worked as a manager for service stations in Bethesda MD and McLean VA, and was an owner and operator of the Leeway Amoco in Arlington VA. He died of cancer at his home in Frederick MD on August 15, 1997. He was survived by daughters Robin McCue, Holley Wallace, and Tiffney Joy Trittipoe; sisters Patricia Steele and Joyce Stevens; three granddaughters, nieces and nephews; and his dear friend and companion, Anna Heier, of Frederick, and her daughter Gina.
