Gil died in Bethany Beach, MD, on January 26, 2021. He graduated from Syracuse, then Georgetown Univ. Law School, then served in the DC National Guard Reserve. He opened a general law practice in Rockville in 1970, doing trial work. He was a member of the Montgomery County Public Schools gender equity task force working to expand opportunities for girls' high school sports, due to his devotion to his daughters' athletic achievements. He was admired for his character, his intellect, his big smile and even bigger heart.
