Bill was born in Washington, DC, and raised in Glen Echo, MD; he was the son of the late Hazel Brandes Magruder and William E. Magruder, Sr. After graduation from B-CC, Bill began working, first with the District Government, and then for Safeway Stores, Inc. He was a volunteer for Glen Echo Fire Department for many years, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. After his retirement from Safeway Stores in 1996, he and his wife moved to North Myrtle Beach. Bill died, age 68, on December 2, 2012. He was survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy Wheeler Magruder; his sister, Charlotte Ann Tyler (Roy) of MD; 13 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
