I am a cardiologist and the Wayne and Kathryn Preisel Professor of Cardiovascular Disease Research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Because of my research interests in blood tests, I have a joint appointment and am also a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology as well. I have 2 adult children. My son, Seth is a Greek scholar and an Associate Professor of Political Thought at John Cabot University in Rome Italy. My daughter, Devorah has an MFA from Carnegie Mellon in Theater and is an Director who help make TV series in New York City. I live in Rochester Minnesota with my partner, Terry Fisher-Flynn. She has 3 daughters and those daughters have 5 children so we have several grandchildren to try to keep up with.
