Bill died at his home in Chevy Chase on January 13, 2017, after a determined battle against brain cancer. He had graduated from Univ. of Maryland with degree in economics, later working for the Federal Trade Commission and NRC, and serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a man of few words, but his words were wise. Having grown up going to Bethany Beach, he later took his family there every summer. He loved watching the Maryland Terrapins on TV and eating Dairy Queen cones on the beach. He challenged his children to be themselves and taught them how to stand strong.
